Christmas 2011 was a fun season. There were so many special things we decided to make a page just to celebrate that time. (Click on the pictures to see them larger) Christmas Market is always a great day. As usual, we had wonderful cakes, steaming soup and lots of goodies for sale. There was magical Christmas music from the operatic society also from a new visiting soloist!... It was busy but it was good! A new venture for this year was the ‘Get into Christmas!’ interactive display, which we set up in the Beacon Centre on 2 Saturdays leading up to Christmas. A stable, a manger full of hay, complete with baby, and a rack full of clothes... set the public loose and photograph the results! ...the angels outfits were very popular; one young lad enjoyed being a shepherd so much, that he came back again to play the part of a wise man; even a baby joined in one day, playing the part of Jesus. Church Christmas Dinner was a another opportunity to have some fun (as well as food). The ‘Create a Christmas Scene’ competition brought out the best of everyone’s artistic abilities... ..there’s just a small sample here. We were also blessed with some great Christmas Art to add to our worship. The wall scene, painted by Ros, with the ‘herald angels’ on each side, grew bit by bit each week, finishing with Baby Jesus on Christmas Day. The alcove pictures, produced by Sheila.
